Interview with Xavier "zoot' Dhorne from The Party - Eindhoven QuakeLIVE LAN
mousestar: Hey there! This is mousestar from jeesports.com and i am here with zoot the chief-caster of the The Party lan. Hi zoot!
zoot: Hi there.
mousestar: So zoot, would you mind to introduce yourself?
zoot: I am Xavier Dhorne or as you may best know me zoot, I am a caster from levelup and I mostly focus on Duel and CTF.
mousestar: You are one of the most famous shoutcasters in the Quake Live scene, how did you start your career?
zoot: I started in 2011 around May, someone offered me the opportunity to cast and i said "yeah sure I`ll give it a go".So I took the opportunity but I was casting on my own. I just sounded extremely monotonous and I could tell it was a lot harder than I thought it would be, so it gave me the motivation to improve.
mousestar: So how come you eventually became the Chief-caster for this event?
zoot: After casting many cups like Acer and tens of tens of Zotacs, various CTF cups and other duel cups I eventually got myself to Levelup and I thought maybe this would give me a platform to ask people who are organising events to give me an opportunity to cast live.
mousestar: Have you been to such a big event before?
zoot: I`ve never been to a Lan-event, this is my first ever.
mousestar: This is your first big job as shoutcaster, what are your expectations and what are your concerns?
zoot: *takes a long break* Expectations? To see some good games! This is gonna be good ctf, this is gonna be good action and it`s gonna be good to talk about it. I think it will be fun for me to meet more people involved especially people I've been talking to for so many months or even years. I think it will be great to get the chance to talk about all these games. The concerns though : technical issues! paranoia about that, cause how many LAN-events have you seen with minor technical issues.
mousestar: What's your favorite team for the title? And what teams do you see on the podium?
zoot: See thats a tough one, i mean i`ve talked to a lot of teams recently and have got a good idea where they think, they stand.The differnce between my expectations and what all the teams thought of each other is quite different. I really think DP is gonna be up there and quite possibly Gunzoids. Its gonna be a DP vs. Gunzoids final, i can feel it but i think that team Spliff and Deathreign could do some damage. I think they have the potential to cause upset and i think they have the potential to go over peoples expectations because they do have some pretty solid players in their teams. Though not so experienced in ctf as the others. And k1ck and broken are random, likely to place strongly but they've expressed some concerns. Those are my expectations. Do you want me to talk about all teams now?
