The new and recent online tournament, The Premier League Masters, took place over the weekend and although it was short lived, it was a good one full of Dota 2 action for all the fans. The tournament boasted four of some of the best teams in the west, with three of them qualified for The International 2012 taking place later next month, in Darer Entertainment, mTw (Mortal Team Work), mouz (Mousesports) and Na'Vi (Natus Vincere). The event was commentated by the three Davids in David "Luminous" Zhang, David "LD" Gorman and Absolute Legends manager David "GoDz" Parker.
In the first round (Semi-Finals) it was Na'Vi against mouz and Darer vs mTw. Unfortunately, Na'Vi had to forfeit the first round against mouz due to the absence of two of their key players in Dmitriy "LighTofHeaveN” Kupriyanov and Sergey "ARS-ART" Revin due to them taking priority on the WCG (World Cyber Games) tournament, participating in a team called Garaj.Gaming, along with legendary support Yaroslav "NS/Night Stalker" Kuznetsov, Team Empire's captain Roman "Scandal" Sadotenkov and his teammate Vladislav "blowyourbrain" Morozyuk, as the team has already qualified for the semi finals. Due to the event, they gave the auto win to mouz and followed up with a statement of apology to the players and fans as true professionals they are:
Na'Vi's official statement on Facebook:
"To clarify all your questions about Na`Vi.DOTA match forfeit at TPL Masters we have to say that both LightOfHeaveN and ARS-ART are today playing in the WCG 2012 Russian Qualifiers. Unfortunately they were in-game when the match started and therefore the match was forfeited according to the current TPL rules and regulations.
We sincerely hope that you can understand our situation and want to apologize before everyone who expected that match."
Although we shouldn't be pointing fingers or anything, Moscow 5 could definitely use a lesson from Na'Vi in similar regards of professionalism!

The following game between Darer and mTw was an entertaining one and also what could be a little preview of the match up between the two that will be taking place later today during the GosuLeague Season 3's last day in playday 7. Both teams were neck to neck for the most part but mTw ended up taking the show in the end with a 2-1 score.
In the Losers Bracket, Na'Vi easily took out their countrymen rivals, Darer, by a score of 2-0 and they made it look easy while showing them which team were the better Ukranians. The win continues their long running streak against Darer. The Winners Bracket finals featured a match up between the two rivals of mouz and mTw. It was another close game for mTw but this time they avenged their loss against mouz in the first game of the GosuLeague Season 3, when mouz absolutely demolished them and sent them in a downward spiral for the next few games afterwards. Mortal Team Work won by a score of 2-1 to place themselves in the grand finals.
Na'Vi kept their dominating run in the Losers Bracket by hastily defeating mouz by a 2-0 score, making it seem like they were going to run into the grand finale with a lot of momentum as they took out the mouz team that mTw had some rough moments against. The Premier League Masters finale was almost a finale rematch of the Dreamhack Summer 2012 Corsair Vengeance Cup, except this time mTw had a one game advantage due to being from the Winners Brackets. Most of us expected an epic rematch between the two but this time around, it looked like mTw found their game again as they took out Na'Vi in two straight games as they seemed to be one step ahead of their opponent every time and won it by a final score of 3-0.

The Premier League Masters didn't last as long as we would've liked but the games played were more than entertaining enough to make up for it. All four teams played great and showed world class skills and much promise to future tournaments to come!
